Case Study – MIGROS VALAIS
Implementation of FABRICUBE CMMS – When digitalization aligns with the vision of maintenance teams.
Migros Valais is a cooperative operating throughout the canton, organized into three regions and comprising 29 stores. Each region has its own technical managers, ensuring local management.
Committed to a process of modernization, the brand wanted to strengthen the coordination of its maintenance activities by prioritizing clarity, responsiveness, and traceability.
Thanks to FABRICUBE CMMS, Migros Valais was able to translate its vision into a flexible and concrete solution, while achieving its operational objectives.
Context
A well-established organization with a new ambition.
The maintenance teams at Migros Valais relied on basic, unsynchronized tools: phone calls, emails, and shared task lists.
To better coordinate interventions between regions and streamline their monitoring, the cooperative wanted to evolve its practices with a tool aligned with the reality on the ground.
This ambition led Migros Valais to seek a tool capable of structuring its organization without disrupting its habits.
An employee at the Migros store in Les Avouillons triggers a technical intervention by simply scanning the equipment concerned.
Challenges
Dispersed coordination of requests: requests arrived through different channels, without centralization, which limited the fluidity of their processing.
Lack of consolidated visibility: there was no shared view of the status of ongoing or planned interventions.
Untracked information transmission: communication between stakeholders took place without centralized support, limiting shared monitoring.
Little feedback on actions taken: the managers who made the requests did not always have confirmation or accessible historical data.
Compartmentalized financial management: information related to working hours, spare parts, or cost breakdowns remained difficult to use because it was scattered and poorly connected to the ERP system.
Solution
With FABRICUBE GMAO, Migros Valais has been able to structure its maintenance management around a centralized and scalable system. The tool was modeled on the maintenance team’s vision, translating its ideas into concrete features. It is not an imposed framework, but a system built on existing practices and a strategy developed in the field.

« What I appreciate is the customization, responsiveness, and direct relationship with the ICUBE teams. Software adjustments are always quick. »

Implementation
Dozens of tablets equipped with keyboards were deployed to enable technicians to enter their reports immediately after each intervention. This approach improved data quality and reinforced good field practices.
Monthly meetings between field technicians were organized to ensure continuity, based on open tickets classified by priority.
The tool has been designed for quick use, without the need to return to a fixed workstation. Filters by type, urgency, or intervention area facilitate day-to-day management, while background work is being carried out to optimize the management of external companies.
Results achieved thanks to FABRICUBE
FABRICUBE CMMS has enabled Migros Valais to transform its maintenance management without disrupting its field practices. The tool has provided a clear structure while remaining flexible and customizable.
Centralized management of 29 stores: all requests are now tracked on a single platform shared by the various stakeholders.
Strengthened regional organization: the existing division into three zones now benefits from clearer management and easier coordination.
Improved traceability and planning : each intervention is tracked, logged, and can be planned over time, with systematic feedback to requesters.
A customized tool, tailored to real-world conditions: FABRICUBE CMMS was built around internally expressed needs, with an interface and processes adjusted as needed.
Integrated tool: FABRICUBE CMMS is interfaced with the ERP (SAP) and other customer software. It meets the security standards imposed by the Migros Group.
“
« It wasn’t the tool that dictated our organization, it was the tool that adapted to our field! »

Next steps
The implementation of FABRICUBE CMMS continues with new ambitions. Migros Valais wants to further enhance the customization of the tool and deepen its integration into the group’s IT ecosystem.
- Subcontractor monitoring: features are being developed to enable external companies to submit their reports directly to the platform.
- Continuous customization: feedback from the field allows us to continuously adjust the user experience to stay as close as possible to the realities of each region.
- Digitization of receipts: a quick-to-implement feature is currently being considered, allowing managers to validate the end of a service call from their tablet.
- Data enhancement: work is underway to improve equipment structuring and fully exploit technical data for predictive purposes.
« The interface is clear, intuitive, and much more user-friendly than what you find in the major systems on the market. And above all, it evolves with us! »
