As Visval didn’t have the necessary Rockwell skills, we looked for a partner to outsource the automation part of our systems. After consulting a number of suppliers, our choice fell fairly easily on Icube. Based in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, but close to the German-speaking part, Icube is resolutely international and multilingual. We entrusted them with the conversion of the Siemens program to Rockwell and the manufacture of the PLC boards for this project. Icube was quickly able to assimilate the subtleties of our SoliValve\u00ae technology and understand the finer points of the program. The installations were delivered and tested according to schedule, and the Icube engineer assigned to the project took part in the FAT testing of the blank installation at a subcontractor’s, as well as commissioning at the end customer’s site.<\/span><\/p>\n

The business of the Mouret dairy<\/h2>\n

La laiterie du Mouret is renowned for its cheese products, notably its Gruy\u00e8re AOP, Vacherin Fribourgeois, as well as specialties such as Cousimbert and Poivrin.<\/p>\n

The dairy is located in the canton of Fribourg in the Sarine district.<\/p>\n

For several years the dairy has been part of a sustainable development approach, focusing on the circular economy and green energy.<\/p>\n

The Dairy’s needs<\/h2>\n

As the dairy’s production tracking was mainly based on Excel files, management wanted to equip itself with business production tracking software enabling it to:<\/p>\n

    The solution implemented by Icube<\/h2>\n

    The Fabricube solution edited by Icube has been implemented at the dairy in combination with the EVA solution, which enables data acquisition from the PLC.<\/p>\n

    First of all, the recipes were digitized, so that all the quality controls required to manufacture the products could be tracked as closely as possible, and the tasks divided up between the cheese makers to ensure the best possible quality follow-up.<\/p>\n

    These recipes were then integrated into a digitized schedule which, among other things, automates the creation of production sheets and divides production stages into tasks.<\/p>\n

    The production values were then fed back from the dairy’s PLC to the manufacturing sheets to automate data entry and ensure substantial time savings and limit the risk of error.<\/p>\n

    The dairy has thus saved time and improved data quality, and has been able to streamline organization thanks to tasks that are better assigned and known to all.<\/p>\n

    Each grinding wheel is tracked and can be easily found to ensure traceability, and each piece of equipment has its own maintenance log.<\/p>\n

    Finally, a report makes it easy to calculate the quantities produced and thus facilitate the completion of the TSM report.<\/p>\n
